Description

The Realme 8i is back with another attractive mid-ranger in the form of a smartphone with a starting price of 15999. The company has used a polycarbonate build for its latest mid-ranger, which has a glossy gradient finish on the back of the phone.

Due to the large screen of the handset, the phone demands that it be held above two hands. Apart from this, there is a risk of smudge on the glossy back of the smartphone. Regardless, from a distance, the Realme 8i looks gorgeous.

Design and Display.

This smartphone comes with 6.60-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2412 pixels. The Realme 8i measures 164.10 x 75.50 x 8.50mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 194.00 grams.

In addition to this, the aspect ratio of the Realme 8i is 20:9 so that you can enjoy vivid and crystal clear visuals while watching videos, playing games, or streaming movies online and 90.8% screen-to-body ratio.
Realme 8i offers different color options like space black and space purple.
Other than that, the display offers Full HD+ resolution and touts a punch-hole notch positioned towards the top-left of the screen.

As for the I/O, the Realme 8i features a Type-C port and a headphone jack at the bottom. The device ships with a capacitive fingerprint sensor on its right fascia, which worked well during my stint with the unit.

Operating system and Battery

Realme 8i is equipped with Octa core (2.05 GHz, Dual core, Cortex A76 + 2 GHz, Hexa Core, Cortex A55) Mediatek Helio G96, so that user can enjoy seamless performance.

The Realme 8i runs Realme UI 2.0 is based on Android 11. The smartphone comes with 6GB and 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB) with a dedicated slot. So that user can store local files, songs, videos and more without worrying about space constraints.

Furthermore, the Realme 8i is packed with 5000 mAh battery and supports fast charging, that lets you enjoy watching movies, playing games and do a lot more without worrying about battery drainage.

The Realme 8i offers rear packs of a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture; a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The front camera setup has autofocus. It has a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor.

Finally, the Realme 8i retails for Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,999 for the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants respectively.
Of course, the handset’s chipset has to be tweaked to support graphically-intensive games better.
